• Loving foster homes are the most important part and the backbone of any rescue organization. They provide safe, temporary homes for kittens and prepare them to meet their forever families.

  • Kittens can be in foster care anywhere from a few days to a few months, with the average stay being about three weeks. Don’t worry about your foster pets if you have a vacation or business trip planned … we will find them another place to stay while you are away.

  • As a CTB foster home, you provide all the love you can spare and a warm, safe place to sleep. You will also provide the customary food and necessities for the animal’s comfort.

CTB covers all veterinary and medication costs. We will provide food and other items when available.

Foster homes will provide transport of foster animals to adoption events and/or veterinarian appointments at their own expense.

We ask the foster family to treat the foster pet like any other member of the family. Get to know your foster pet(s); the insight you can offer will be very helpful to the placement decision.

Together, you and the Adoption Coordinator decide what kind of home will be best for your foster and by facilitating potential adopter meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to meet your foster pet’s new family and ensure it’s a good match.

  • No. Some animals will require medications, bottle feeding, or veterinary treatment while others just need a warm, safe place to stay.

  • We understand that “foster failures” occur. If you and your Adoption Coordinator decide the foster is a good match for your family, you will be eligible to adopt the pet. The standard adoption procedure is followed, including the adoption contract and fee. We hope you’ll continue to foster for us, though!

  • If you know someone who is interested in your foster animal, encourage them to contact the CTB Adoption Coordinator directly.
